ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

Meghan Bogden Shimek is a fiber artist and weaver living and working in Oakland, California. Her work is inspired by loss, movement, healing, and the acknowledgement of uncomfortable feelings. Shimek uses traditional tapestry and Navajo weaving techniques along with organic movements to intertwine raw fibers and objects to create abstract textural wall hangings, sculptures, and installations.
